About Women V Cancer

Women V Cancer unites two incredible charities, Breast Cancer Now and Ovarian Cancer Action, in one powerful partnership. Together, these charities are transforming the future for women affected by cancer.

From funding cutting-edge research into new treatments and cures, to raising awareness of the signs and symptoms, providing emotional support and campaigning for better outcomes, they’re helping to save lives and stand by people when they need it most.

Through Women V Cancer challenges, thousands of women come together every year fundraising in solidarity to make a real difference for those facing breast and ovarian cancers.

About Breast Cancer Now

  • Every 10 minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with breast cancer. That’s around 55,000 women and 370 men every year.

  • Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. One in seven women in the UK will develop the disease.

  • 35,000 people are living with incurable secondary breast cancer.

By 2050, we believe everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live – and be supported to live well.

But we need to act now.

We’re Breast Cancer Now, the charity that’s steered by world-class research and powered by life-changing care. We’re here for anyone affected by breast cancer, the whole way through, providing support for today and hope for the future.

We’re that trusted friend that you turn to for caring support when you need it most.

That expert authority on research who is making breakthroughs and driving forward progress.

And that vehicle for change, acting now to make sure anyone affected by breast cancer gets the best possible treatment and care.

About Ovarian Cancer Action

  • 7,500 people are diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer every year

  • 1 woman every hour is diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in the UK

  • Only around one third of women diagnosed have their cancer caught at stage 1-2.

  • Over 50% are diagnosed at advanced stage ovarian cancer.

  • Ovarian Cancer Action is a community of changemakers with one purpose: to give ovarian cancer the focus it needs to increase 10-year survival rates. And we know research is the solution.

We live and breathe this lifesaving, world-leading research. We fund more ovarian cancer research than any other UK gynaecological cancer charity. It’s how we’ve driven some of the biggest breakthroughs of the last 19 years.

We're also the only charity at the heart of the global ovarian cancer research community and have been for four decades.

By connecting the world's leading scientists together, we’re creating a powerful hub of experience, expertise and insight. So, we confidently fund research that takes us a step closer to our goal: that by 2032 half of women will live more than 10 years after diagnosis.
